Title: Shifter Housing Cracked

The shifter pulled out of the housing, when I removed the boot a small piece of the housing fell out of the boot.  Anyone have any experience welding or brazing the cast housing?  JB Weld won't work.

No.  I have tried a few things that don't work and the word is that welding just vaporizes the metal.  I had one guy say change the housing, which is basically the center section of the tractor.
