9N,2N,8N, Ford Tractors / Re: Newbie needs help!

Without pictures its not easy to do.  The fact that it is not running right now greatly reduces the price, since it cannot be verified that it will run.  But all things concidered, $1000.00 bucks is a good price for seller and buyer.

I'm upgrading to a larger PTO shaft myself and recently removed mine just by unbolting the 4 screws holding the seal plate.  Make sure to drain all of the oil before you attempt this, otherwise you'll have a big mess on your hands.  I had to yank mine a little to get it started, but it slid right out after that.  Good luck.

Problem solved.  Parts manager at the New Holland Ford dealership in Cereville, MD found the piece I need.  Thanks to all. :)

9N,2N,8N, Ford Tractors / Pinion Gear, Chrome sleeve for pinion bearing
« on: October 23, 2011, 05:21:40 AM »
I'm rebuilding a 9N right now.  I have a problem with determining the part number for the chrome sleeve that goes over the end of the pinion gear/shaft assembly which is inserted into the pinion bearing.  Yesterday's Tractors (a part supplier) would like to sell me the part, but they don't know which one I need.  They have three listed.  In lieu of buying all three, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can select the correct one? :-\
