9N,2N,8N, Ford Tractors / 9N carb
« on: September 04, 2009, 07:57:56 AM »
I have a 9N that has been sitting for a few years, new points & condenser and carb kit got it running, but it is not running right.  I need to manipulate the choke to keep it running, it does seem to run better when the when it is under a load.  Bottom line it I am tired of fooling with the old carb.  I’m thinking about buying a new Zenith carb.  Does anyone have any pros or cons about this swap?
Thanks,
Mike

I installed mine.  Run the one wire from the module directly to the ignition switch, do not go through the resistor.  A wire from the top of the coil grounds to any good location on the frame.

I have a 9N that I replaced the manifold due to the exhaust leaking.  Since the replacement, the tractor will not start.  I have installed and new battery, new ignition switch, points, condenser, cap, rotor, spark plugs and resister.  the tractor will turn over, but it will not start.  The tractor is still 6v.  Ya got any ideas what to look for or try now?
