Message:   I have been working on this tractor for almost a year, finally got it done and running. Now I'm not sure if it is supposed to be positive or negative ground. Right now I have it hooked up Negative ground and it starts and runs, but should it be positve ground? What will happen if I just switch the battery around? Thanks, John

Message:   Hello,

We recently bought a used ford 9n and i have a question about a shifting lever that we do not know what it is for. I do not see it on other 9n's. just curious to why that is. The lever is on the left side of the transmission as if you were sitting on it. and it is located right buy the steering arm. What does that do and why does my tractor have it and others do not. Is is specialty 9n.. thanks shaun

Message:      No Sundowner Tractor Company

I recently lost $360.51 as a result of doing business with Sundownter Tractor Company. If anyone else has similar issues, I suggest they report these issues to the Better Business Bureau. I would stay clear of them. Customer Service is outrageous. Owner pays more attention to her personal life than taking care of her business life. Owner refuses to hold herself accountable for her actions and blames problems on everyone else for her mistakes, ie Manufacturer, customer, service technician.

Message:   Greetings. I am the new owner of a Ford 9N and trying to locate the serial number as there are no papers for this tractor. Trying to determine the year and features, etc.

I found a four-digit number *1273* on the left side of the engine block near the starter mounting location. But I am not certain this is the right place. A buddy told me it should have the prefix 9N before the serial number.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

I found a 9n with the smooth cast rear hubs this weekend and was wondering what eles I needed to look for to see how early it is and correct. I know abut the serial number, but was wondering about other little clues. Can anyone help? How long did they make the 9n's with the smooth rear hubs?

Thanks,

Stuart
