Title: Rough Idle with no Load
Post by: svaughan on July 08, 2008, 04:25:32 PM
I have had my 9N since May of this year and it is everything I thought it would be! I have plowed and disced 3/4 of an acre and planted sweet corn right smack in the middle of suburbia!
One of the only problems I have is that no matter what I do with the jets and adjustments it always seems to spit while running without under a load. When the motor is cold or hot it digs down and purrs like a kitten when the plow is dropped or going up a steap grade. But when it has no load no matter what the rpm's it spits and smells rich? does anyone have any ideas? The idle seems to be high all the time too? when I choke down the idle adj, after it gets hot it won't hold the ide? Sorry for going on but I am trying to reveil all the sypmtems. Thanks for your help!

How about the carburator float level, it may be too high. The float valve seat may be leaking? A carb kit could solve this.
