9n wiring harness
« on: February 23, 2010, 12:30:50 PM »
Looking for some help, I was wondering how hard is it to install a new wiring harness on a 1941 9n?  Also will a 8n harness work for a 9n?  TSC employee said they were the same.  Thanks Mark

The main wiring harness is easy to install. It comes all assembled, and from then its simply removing the old wires and replacing it with the appropriate wire from the harness. The entire main wire harness should be physically secured first to teh tractor, and then the connections can be done last.

The 8N wire harness is not the same as the 9N. The 9N and the 2N wire harness are the same, however.

Thanks-I most have bought the wrong one, i have extra wires leading to the generator and also some where around the starter.  My generator has one post, and my starter only has the post from the battery, could these extra leads be left off or should i look at getting a different wiring harness?  Thanks Mark

There will be extra wires as stated, but it will work.If you've already bought the harness ,just don't use those wires.roll them up and tape the ends to keep them out of the way, then in case of failure of a wire, you can swap out same color on both ends. Remember electricity can't tell what color the wire is coated with.---lha
