Message: Hello,
We recently bought a used ford 9n and i have a question about a shifting lever that we do not know what it is for. I do not see it on other 9n's. just curious to why that is. The lever is on the left side of the transmission as if you were sitting on it. and it is located right buy the steering arm. What does that do and why does my tractor have it and others do not. Is is specialty 9n.. thanks shaun

Not sure if it is the same lever or not, but could it be the hi-low lever? If it is, it will change your ground speed and RPM's in each gear. Basically, low is for pulling and hi is for speed. Hope it's what you needed, if not, I don't know.
