Governer adjustment on a 9-N?
« on: August 31, 2009, 06:35:11 PM »
Just having ALOT of problems out of my ol' 9-N. Running hot, doesn't idel good, just does'nt seem to have any power at all. Just worndering if there is a way to adjust the governor to get somemore rpm's out of this baby. It just seems to be just above idel at full throtel. Aslo, manifold gets so hot it glows red. Plus radiator boils over when you kill it. Possible water pump? Any suggestion will be greatly appriciated.
Thanks!

You need to get a f-O4 manual by I&T.They have a fairly detailed procedure for a lot of adjustments ect. As far as the overheating, you should check for a thrmostat. If there is not one,put one in.It is in the upper rad.hose, just pull it off& see remember to install it w/spring toward engine. Also probably needs idle mix. adjusted by screwing allthe way in, then back out 1/2 turn. Adjust slowly for fastest idle, keeping in mind that in is rich, out for lean then adj. idle speed (nearest engine).-----lha
